Sika® Sigunit® L-89 AF

Setting accelerating admixture for sprayed concrete

Sika® Sigunit® L-89 AF is a highly effective, accelerating, and liquid admixture alkali-free, particularly indicated for the application of sprayed concrete both wet and dry, characterized by very short setting times and rapid development of mechanical resistances.

Shelf life

12 months from date of production if stored in undamaged and unopened, original sealed containers.

Storage conditions

In the original well-sealed packaging, protected from the action of sunlight and frost with temperatures between +5° and +35°C. After prolonged storage the product performance must be tested, it is always necessary to remix the product before use.

Application Information

Compatibility

The suitability of mixtures added with Sika® Sigunit® L-89 AF must always be checked with preliminary tests. The normal size of aggregates during pumping is between 8 and 12 mm of maximum diameter. It is necessary to use suitable High Range water Reducer (HRWR) of the Viscocrete or Sikament series. The acceleration of the setting time and the development of mechanical strengths strongly depend on the water-cement ratio, on the type and age of the binder, as well as on the support temperature and the concrete temperature, which should be higher than 10 °C. Lower concrete temperatures, require a higher dosage of accelerator. For the purpose of a correct application, it is suggested to request the support and technical advice of Sika.

Sika® Sigunit® L-89 AF is compatible with the super-plasticizing additives of the Viscocrete and Sikament lines, SikaTard retarders and additions like Sika Fume, Sika Visco type homogenizers. It is not compatible with alkaline accelerators.
