Meta Abo Brewery factory based on the Industrial facilities in Sebeta completed expansion with $119m bottling line. To re-launch the Meta brand, an increase of the capacity on brewery production was needed to provide a strong platform for the future. This factory is based in an industrial area exposed to an aggressive environment. Main intervention was done in a 57 years old concrete soffit slab damaged, with corroded exposed rebar, for that rebars corrosion protection with chemical resistance and R3 class acc. EN 1504 concrete repair mortar were required. All the interventions were done with a tight schedule from January to March 2020, since the factory didn´t stop production during work time.
Sika Solutions
Concrete soffit slab was damaged due to accelerated ageing due to the industrial environment. Part of the slab reiforcement rebars were exposed to corrosion and peeling of the concrete cover. SikaTop® Armatec®-110 EpoCem® was applied as rebars corrosion protection and SikaRep® N as a structural repair mortar acc. to consultants’ requirements. Consultant knew Sika solutions and requested the specific products listed. Sika team closely supported the applicator, providing training on the jobsite for the preparation works and Sika applications.
